Although the Apollo Course is a brand new and unique concept, the highly qualified and experienced team delivering it have been working together for over a decade on health, weight loss and fitness related programmes across Europe.

Dr Joe Rowles
Apollo Course Co-founder
Joe is a medical doctor with an interest in fitness and human performance. He trained as a medic in the Special Forces and subsequently attended medical school.
He now divides his time between working as an Emergency Medicine doctor in the UK and as Medical Director for the US TV show ‘Survivor’. He is also an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at Exeter Medical School and faculty member for the Master’s degree in Extreme Medicine at Exeter University.
Working in Emergency Medicine has given Joe first-hand experience of the consequences that patients can suffer as a result of untreated chronic illness such as diabetes and high blood pressure. While treating these patients he realised that many were unaware of these consequences and many could have potentially been avoided with simple lifestyle interventions and education.
This led directly to the concept of the Apollo Course.
Apollo Course Co-founder
Sam is passionate about health, fitness and the outdoor environment. Over the last twenty five years he has worked as an adventure training instructor, team building consultant, Special Forces soldier and close protection specialist.
Sam was co owner and chief instructor of the UK’s first residential weight loss course for which he designed and wrote the programme.
After six enjoyable and successful years Sam left this business to work in maritime anti-piracy and then as a consultant on the 2012 London Olympic Games before accepting the job of Regional Security Manger for Western Europe for an investment bank.
During this time Sam became an IronMan triathlete completing the 2016 Bolton IronMan in under 14 hours.
